It had been a week since the thunderstorm, and Mercury had full intentions of finding Reese again some time. He hadn't had a chance to get a lick of information from her when the storm had ended; she'd been in too much of a rush to get back to wherever she was supposed to be. For the entire week after, Mercury found himself preoccupied with music lessons and dealing with issues at home. He managed to spare just enough time for a very personal errand; getting his guitar fixed. Things tended to happen, now and then, that made maintenance necessary. This time, it was rain damage. The guitar case ended up being considerably below par -- another thing needing to be replaced.
All considered, it meant he wasn't around when his twin brother and little sister, on a whim, decided to take a walk around town.
"Leave your phone at home," Marcus requested -- he didn't have it in him to demand anything of her. Ever. "You're always texting Sven. Just this once, enjoy where you are. You know, instead of worrying 'bout where he is."
Dori noted his puppy-dog like begging face and sighed, dropping her phone on a table before following him out. They walked in peace for a good while, turning randomly at this street or that.It was nice enough out, the skies much clearer than they had been the previous week. They'd been walking for a good while when, quite out of nowhere, Dori tugged her brother's arm.
"Marc, I'm hungry."
"Er, then do you want to go home?" He looked down at her, not knowing what else to suggest. He wasn't used to taking any actual firm hold of command in a situation.
"No, let's just stop somewhere for a snack."
"But then-"
"Yes, Marcus. You have to get something too."
"I'm not hungry."
"You never are. You know the rules. You eat when we do. Let's go." The small, pink haired girl took a firmer grip on her brother's arm, dragging him toward the closest cafe she could find. She wouldn't have to do this with Mercury. With him, he would have been in charge. In Marcus's case, you just had to set your foot down and pull him around by his thin and boney arm.
The door dinged when Dori pushed it open, Marcus in tow. They were quite a sight, approaching the counter. For siblings, they looked nothing alike; Dori was pixie-small where Marcus and Mercury were almost towering. Where the boys had ginger locks, Dori proudly sported bubble-gum pink. To anyone who didn't know, they might not have been related at all.
