He had seen something. Wanted it. And taken it. This was simply how the world worked for Kendal Lawrence Supin. It was a rule of nature. The sun sets in the west and Kendal gets what he wants. One way or another. Luckily this time he had hardly needed to lift a finger. It was common vampire knowledge that fairy blood was some the sweetest, finest blood out there. But acquiring such a creature was...difficult, to say the least. With the sensitivity of Vampiric eyes and the...near Godly bright nature of the fairies' homeland, capturing one was made near impossible even with ocular protection better than the normal protection they were forced to walk about in. Not to mention the fairies were a tight, intelligent race. They knew they were a delicacy, and knew that they were outmatched by the strength of vampires. So they kept in their pristine, glimmering little villages and forests and hardly strayed. Hardly being the ideal term. Kendal hadn't been sure why this one was so different. Why he had strayed so far away from his safe home. Past night no less. Had he just been stupid? Perhaps. Either way, the glowing little firefly had looked like nothing but a gift of dinner for the stalking Vampire, who had been boredly wandering the perimeters in the vain hope that he might stumble upon one before he would give up and continue on to the village for prey. He had not been expecting to see that creature numbly wandering about. But he quickly took advantage of it, rushing in and knocking it out with a swift blow to the back of the head- (Fairies were not notorious for being strong in any sense.) Now he carried the creature through the grand, windowed halls of his castle. As it was in the middle of the night, the servants had opened up the velvety, red drapes to allow the succulent moon to drip beams of cold light along the marbled floors. Kendall's sharp, uncovered eyes stayed forward, the orbs pink with circles of yellow around the thin pupils. His long red hair flowed lazily behind him, flipped inward like a cape at the ends and framing in around his face. He walked with purpose, talking immense strides with his long legs , to a staircase leading into the dark underbelly of the castle. He strolled up to the door, opening it with one of his hands awkwardly, as he still held the fairy, and began down the hall. This hallway was long and held many doors. It appeared to have once been as beautiful as the other hallways, but was covered in a soft layer of dust and kept cobwebs in some of the corners. The only light came from the dor Kendall had entered through. The doors were ornate, one of which Kendall approached and threw open. It held nothing but a bed and a small bathroom area. No windows. No light. Now he threw the fairy onto the bed and leaned against the wall to watch the boy and wait. He was hungry. And he wanted a taste of his new menu item. The fear that would stem from the creature when it first awakened would sweeten the blood perfectly. He shuddered in excitement and expectation, the vampire licking his long fangs. He would wake soon.

He should have turned back when the temperature began to cool. When the birds had begun to retreat for the day, too, would have been a nice time to follow suit...or even when the moon had made its faint appearance in the sky next to its elder sister, the Sun, would have been acceptable. Ardell had made a huge mistake in ignoring this insistent instinct, and had instead waited until pink and orange were finger painted into the sky. The realization of the time had caught his attention only then; but by then the unfortunate fairy had traveled much too far to find his way home very easily.
Ardell knew he was in deep trouble by the time the Sun had completely turned in for the night, leaving the delicate and slender wings on his back a pale and pasty white- matching the moon's beams almost reluctantly. Stumbling became a common occurrence as he tried to make sense of the unfamiliar ground, and desperation had begun to settle in quite fully. It came to a point where he no longer cared where he ended up- he just wanted to be near other people already. Even humans seemed better than spending the night out in the forest without a bed or light, although this particular fairy had never actually met one of those before....
Eventually he had gotten his wish. Its delivery was quite twisted. He'd had no clue as to what was happening, as his consciousness left him after only a brief slam to the head. No thought of vampires had come across his thoughts, or anything of that matter....it had just been that quick.
And now he finally woke. No dream had visited him during that short lapse of consciousness, though even if one had been so gracious, he probably wouldn't have remembered due to the immediate observations. For one thing....his head ached. Horribly so. And his sight...he could see nothing. Was he blind folded? He couldn't feel one over his eyes, but nothing but darkness reached him even as he strained for any sort of object.
He could feel fabric underneath him, its texture and form reminding him of a bed. The fairy made to sit up, grimacing and gripping his head. His eyes again tried to make sense of his surroundings, but once more he could make nothing out. A hand reached out, attempting to feel out what he could not see.

Kendall's lips sharpened into a hash grin as the small, scrumptious creature stirred to life. He watched it move now, the fairy out of his wits. He had just woken and it was all too obvious he would only feel full fear when he had woken fully and realized the severity of the situation he was in. Now the question: Could he wait that long?
The fairy couldn't really see in the dark, that much Kendall was sure of. The creatures that were used to almost constant light would not have strong night vision in the slightest, so it was possible that the boy didn't even know the vampire was in the room with him. So what could he do? Just stand there and watch the fairy squirm for awhile? That sounded fun enough- but just looking at the helpless little imp made Kendall's hunger and desire spike. There was sweet, crimson nectar underneath that fair skin. And he wanted it. He wanted it bad. After a few moments of thinking, Kendall decided to throw the fairy a bone. He shifted a bit in the darkness- that was as good as day-light to the blood-thirsting beast- and insured his clothes slid against the stone wall- making a soft "Shhhhh..." noise. He made no other sound, watching for the reaction.

The fairy's movements halted as the sound reached his ears. What was that...? Ardell lowered his arm with a speed implying that moving too fast could potentially set something off. He turned his head in the direction of the source. His eyes, the color of desert sand, squinted as they tried to see through the dark cloak. Still nothing could be made out, and this unnerved the fairy.
"....Hello?" he called with a tentative nature. He refused to let panic get to him....it was just a very spooky setting, after all. Maybe whoever's house this was merely lacked proper lighting. Why this would be so...well, how would Ardell be able to guess that? He'd hardly ventured from the villages before.
But this darkness; it really raised the hair on his skin. In the fairy villages and cities, light was always present- even during the night. People claimed that it kept the vampires away. Ardell had never thought much about this saying; the idea of those blood sucking monsters, especially when curled up in your well lit home, always seemed much more like a tale told to children to keep them in the gates during the night.
Nevertheless....vampires were real. Ardell could recall a night of his childhood when the power source of the village suddenly cut out. The villagers had panicked, fleeing with their families to the nearest one over. Everyone had traveled in a single group, a very long trail of fairies that stretched almost the entire distance between the two villages. It would have been less of an emergency if this failure had not happened during the night.
Night. The time when no fairy could draw enough strength to fly, even if a Full Moon highlighted everything below.
Ardell had walked along with the other members of the orphanage, who had been merged in with the village's children and pushed inward within a circle of adults to further their protection. It had been a long walk, made even worse with a New Moon hanging in the sky. Only the lanterns carried by the outer members of the group provided the precious light. He could remember everyone being utterly silent, with only the shifting of their clothing and the pressings of their feet on the ground audible.
A scream from the farther reaches of the group startled everyone. People began to run, and various cries of "vampires!" or "vamps!" became the first spoken words in perhaps a few hours. Ardell had looked back over his shoulder as they were hurried forward, and through the racing bodies could make out dark shapes falling from the trees. More screams and shrieks proceeded this, many of them ending in a horribly sudden silence. Ardell and the other children had been booted away ahead of the group after this, and he saw no more of this event.
The fairy gave a shudder, giving a much needed shake of his head. He did not need to be thinking about that night. It had been a terrifying time in itself, and associating it with this weirdness would only lead to unnecessary stress. "Is someone here? Where am I?" he asked, voice firmer this time. With the memory now fresh in his mind, his heart was a little bit more audible to his ears.

Kendall's fangs were bared in the daunting, cold absence as an expectant smirk. His eyes glittered darkly, a soulless excitement for the fear in the voice of the prey. He had no idea where he was, and possibly no idea who was even in the room with him. He liked that for the time being- made the fairy's fear spike. Making the blood all the sweeter. But he was becoming bored with standing there- waiting. His appetite tried to move his legs of it's own will- trying to force him to speed the process along. Anything to get that blood. Now the vampire took a step forward and reached a hand out, lying it on the shoulder of the fairy. It was cold to the touch- heatless and bony. Dead. He said nothing, but allowed the fairy to fret at his will.

At first, Ardell managed to stay calm. Or rather, to refrain from leaping out of his very skin. His breath caught, a cold shiver running over his skin as it came in contact with the vampire's hand. It was so cold. Like ice, almost. But somehow it was even colder than that in his mind. He began to turn his head, still seeing nothing despite the gesture. Attempting a slow exhale, he began to reach up to the foreign coldness, hoping -praying- that his trembling fingers would brush up against nothing but air. They didn't.
That breath, meant as a calming one, escaped him in a sudden shriek as he met skin. His heart beat a frenzied drum as he made to duck, or rather, leap, away from the unknown presence. He didn't care that he had no idea what was in front of him. He just wanted to get away from that - whatever it was.

Kendall's other cold hand shot out, snagging the fairy's other shoulder and clasping it violently. He leaned close, letting his icy breath cascade over the face of the terrified fairy. He didn't want to make his move yet- or rather, he wanted to, but he forced himself to restrain- to wait until the blood was sweet enough. Perfect enough for consumption. He grinned, though he knew the fairy wouldn't be able to see it- even in this closeness. Which made the fear-factor even richer. He could feel the vampire so close- but couldn't see him. Still Kendall didn't speak.

The fairy squealed as he was grabbed, Ardell still trying to desperately pull away. His heart hammered as he kicked and pulled, brown eyes unable to relieve themselves from a stretched wide position. "Let go!" he cried, hand reaching up to the grip on his shoulder. "Let go!

"Never." Kendall finally replied, voice harsh and callous. "You're mine now, little moth." His grin increased, "Yes...yes...that's what you are, aren't you? An absolute moth. Oh, I love moths. So simple- dumb." His grip increased, "So easy to destroy. To consume." He chuckled, "Oh, but I won't be destroying you little moth, heavens no! That would be a waste- a total waste. And why would I want to waste such a delicacy? Delicacies should be savored." He ran a long-nailed finger along Ardell's cheek. "Every. Last. Drop."

Ardell's breathing began to reach hyperventilation. His other hand reached up with the other- the both of them attempting to pry off the vampire's. But the energy was weak and trembling, hardly enough to move anything more than just his own limb. By now he'd come to the horrible realization that Kendall had been waiting for. What else would choose such words? It was clearly a monster- a kind well known to all fairies.
"...Vampire..." he gasped softly. He began to feel a sort of light headiness, his legs beginning to fall from under him in fear.
